About the Author

Anna Kasabian is a freelance writer, journalist and the author of 16 books—13 on interior design and architecture, and three cookbooks.

 

Her work as a porcelain artist (Annakasabianporcelain.com) is an extension of her passion for design.

 

Published Winter of 2020 MAss Market

 

Scala Arts & Heritage Publishers, London has published the book titled Castle Hill, a brief history of this historic, seaside property in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The summer home of plumbing magnate Richard T. Crane, Jr. was built by architect David Adler in 1928. Owned by the Trustees of Reservations, it has undergone renovations inside and out, including its breath-taking gardens and todaylooks much like it did when the Chicago family summered here.

Rizzoli International published her 13th book in April 2012, Jennifer Post, Pure Space, Elegant Minimalism, a monograph of this renowned designer- named one of the Top 35 Best Design Books in 2012 by House Beautiful Magazine.

Her articles on interior design and architecture, art, food and cooking, luxury and historic real estate, garden design, home and garden preservation projects and New England have been published in regional and national magazines including Art New England, Country Home, New England Living, Northshore Magazine,The Boston Globe, Cybele, Design New England, New England Home, Boston Magazine, Boston Home The Robb Report, Coastal Living, Connecticut Cottages, and Gardens, LUXE, Ocean Home, Reside, Woman’s Day, Yankee, Down East, and Cooks Illustrated, USA Today Summer 2014 GoEscape; USA Today Fall 2014 Back to School issue.

In 2007 she served as the Northeast Publisher for The History Press's new office based in Salem, MA where she worked to build a staff, edit and acquire books.

She has worked as a freelance acquisitions editor, freelance producer & appeared on HGTV as a design expert, & has been featured on and freelanced for NPR’s Boston affiliate WBUR.

On occasion she takes on freelance projects that call upon her talents as a researcher and interviewer. She contributed to the 2011 published book, Something in the Ether, A Bicentennial History of Massachusetts General Hospital, 1811-2011.

A graduate of Endicott College (AA) and Emerson College (BA), she spent the early part of her career as a journalist and editor at The Hartford Times and Essex County Newspapers. She served as the Boston editor of Panorama and Playbill Magazines and from there moved on to become the Executive Editor of the Crosby-Vandenburg Group/Jubilee Publications where she was instrumental in creating the editorial for several special interest publications, including: CityGuide, TheatreBill, The Boston Restaurant Guide, Settlin’In (a residential guide to living in Massachusetts), The New England Real Estate Directory (a guide to commercial office space)and Premiere—the magazine that re-opened the Wang Center. In addition, she managed and created editorial for numerous Cable Television Guides nationwide, Dimension and ViewerGuide, among them. During this period was a regular guest on local live talk radio shows in Boston promoting living and dining in the city.

She took a new career path and was a principal at DRK, Inc., a Boston-based advertising agency owned with David Kasabian for several years before returning to her passion, publishing and writing in 1996.
